September Focus on...
T r a n s p o r t a t i o n

Transportation is a critical need in our community that we often don’t think about. This month, join us as we focus on transportation and how you can volunteer with us to help ensure equitable access to transportation for everyone. Check out our array of volunteer opportunities, from introducing older adults to public transit to fixing bikes for low-income children. Got a car... or a bike? Deliver meals to homebound seniors through Loaves & Fishes. Enjoy working behind the scenes? Be a strategic planner or volunteer receptionist for Ride Connection, which connects older adults and people with disabilities to transportation. Whatever your interest, take some time this month to give someone the gift of mobility!

    CHOOSE YOUR IMPACT:

Going somewhere in your car? Be a One-way Driver!

Ride Connection

Tuesdays, 5:00-7:45pm (Multnomah County)

Going somewhere in your car? Why not offer a one way ride to older adults and those with disabilities who are unable to drive and access public transportation? You can offer a ride during various times throughout the day, you determine your own availability, and you give the gift of mobility to an older adult or someone with a disability. Join our pool of volunteer drivers today!

Grocery Delivery Drivers Needed

Imagine your life without the ability to drive where you need to go. Now imagine that you also cannot stand or walk well enough to use public transportation. What is the most important thing you can do to help a senior in your community? Volunteer to drive. A huge loss of independence occurs when an older adult can no longer drive, or makes the decision to give it up before an accident occurs.
