Celebrating Her-story:
March Focus on Women
Join us this month to learn
how organizations in Portland
support and celebrate women everyday!

"When women on all
continents, often divided by national boundaries and by
ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political
differences, come together to celebrate
their Day, they can
look back to a tradition that represents at least nine
decades
of struggle for equality, justice, peace and
development."
United Nations
The Portland
area boasts many organizations that concentrate their
efforts
on the support and success of women of all ages and
backgrounds, by
providing opportunities, connections, safe spaces, and
education. Throughout the month of March, Hands On offers
several projects in conjunction with these organizations
in
the spirit of International Women's Day.
International Women's Day
(March 8th) commemorates the history and
accomplishments of women worldwide. The result of an extensive fight for women's rights and
equality, this day serves to build political and social awareness
of women's struggles worldwide. For more information,
please visit
InternationalWomen'sDay.com.
We
welcome everyone
to join us this month; get inspired and take action!
