was an Outdoor School Counselor twice, at Westwind and
Nate Creek camps. For at least a week of each summer
Treva was a DARE Camp Counselor to at-risk youth. Her
favorite volunteering activity was at Oregon
Partnership’s YouthLine, a teens-helping-teens crisis
hotline. She completed 40 hours of training and for
several years was a crisis counselor, specifically
working with suicidal teenagers. Treva continues to be a
Big Brothers Big Sisters on campus Student Leader and

Since a very young age MacKenzie Wear has
believed that to build a better world, you must first
take care of your community. It is with this belief that
she has always been active in volunteering to help the
communities in which she has lived. Growing up in
Louisville, Colorado, she was able to participate in
activities such as the COMPA food drive, Emergency
Family Assistance and Lambs Lunch, which helped to feed
homeless families in her community. While she attended
Monarch High School, she helped incoming freshmen
transition to high school as a member of the
school-sponsored LINKS program. As an active member of
her church she received the opportunity to volunteer as
a camp counselor at Maranatha Bible Camp and was a
leader for the Vacation Bible School summer program. Her
passion to help has also led her to help internationally
with programs to assist refugees in Czech Republic,
Mexico and Northern Uganda. MacKenzie is a freshman
Social Work major at Pacific University, where she is an
active participant in the Big Brothers Big Sisters
program on campus.
