Intel is a global company, but the HEART of Intel's
business is in Oregon. Oregon is home to Intel’s largest
and most comprehensive site, a global center for
research and development and manufacturing working for a
sustainable future. Intel works hard to be a good
corporate citizen, technology leader and environmental
steward by creating positive relationships with the
community. Volunteerism is encouraged at Intel because
the organization is committed to being an asset to site
communities around the world. Since its founding, Intel
has invested countless hours and billions of dollars to
improve education, strengthen communities, and protect
the environment.
Intel continues to focus its outreach on improving math,
science, engineering and technology education. The
organization donated nearly $5.5 million to Oregon
schools and community non-profit organizations in 2007.
Intel employees volunteered over 50,000 hours in our
local schools, earning $534,000 for 250 Oregon schools
through Intel's Volunteer Matching Grant Program. Intel
employees volunteer thousands of hours each year in
places like the Intel Computer Clubhouses, the Intel
International Science and Engineering Fair and local
schools. You'll find Intel volunteers working in the
Oregon Food Bank, building a house with Habitat for
Humanity, helping kids learn to read with SMART, or
bringing food and gifts to families in need during the
holidays.
