Brenda Bowling has been leading projects since Hands On
Greater Portland’s inception. She demonstrates tireless
devotion to her cause, and has served as a leader twice
a week at Union Gospel Mission for 9 years. She has also
willingly accepted other volunteer projects when asked,
including Cares Day and Homeless For A Day over MLK
Weekend. Brenda is dedicated to the Hands On mission.
When interviewed for a piece in the enewsletter a couple
of years back, she wrote a piece that brought the entire
Hands On staff to tears. She gets it. She lives the
mission of volunteerism. She accepts and is
compassionate and welcoming to every volunteer who signs
up for her projects. She sees the work that she's doing
as creating change in the world, one meal at a time.
