We Have A New Name!
Drum roll,
please!
In order to reflect our
growth into Washington County, we are now Hands On Greater
Portland. This name will allow us the freedom to
expand geographically. In reality, we've been working in
Greater Portland for some time. Our new name better defines
who we are and where we are going.
Looking for that "HOP"
acronym? You can call us Hands On
for short.
We're 10
Years Old!
A circle of friends
created Hands On Portland in 1996 to connect volunteers with
critical needs in Portland. Today, 10 years later, that circle
has grown to more than 12,000 friends. Through Hands On,
volunteers feed the hungry, care for elderly, teach children and
fill other important needs across Greater Portland.
For those who didn't
make it to our 10th birthday shindig, our sincere thanks for
volunteering, leading projects, partnering with us and supporting
what we do. We've changed a lot in a decade.
Looking ahead, we're excited about the
future. We hope that you will be a part of it.
