November 2007
The Holidays are just around the corner...do you have
holiday projects that you'd like us to
post?
Do you need volunteers to sort toys at your toy
drive? Sell trees on your Christmas tree lot? Help with
your Chanukah celebration? Do you run an Adopt-a-Family
program?
Thousands of volunteers come to us looking for holiday
volunteer opportunities. You can post these types of projects on our
website, either on our calendar or on our referral list depending on
the type of volunteers you are seeking.
If you're in Multnomah County, call 503.413.7856 or email
Melia to get your projects posted.
If you're in Washington County, call 503-413-8925 or email
Rachel.

In honor of our
devotion to reflection and November's focus on "giving
thanks,"
we decided to ask some of our volunteers, staff and partners to
offer their reflections on volunteering and Hands On's partnerships
in the community. Here's what everyone had to say on the
impact of volunteering... |

Volunteer
Management
Workshops
In the
past, we’ve offered a menu of volunteer management workshops to our
partners, everything from How
To Lead Episodic Projects to Diversifying Your Volunteer
Pool.
This year we are convening an advisory
group made up of a cross-section of our partners who will, among
other things, come up with a fresh list of clinics to offer in the
Spring of ’08.
If you have input about clinics that
you’d like us to hear, email melia@handsonportland.org. Otherwise, look for our Volunteer
Management clinics to be announced in late
winter. |
