Comcast / Hands On Greater Portland Cares Day 2009
The 7th annual
Comcast/Hands On Greater Portland
Cares Day
was a great success!
From Eugene to Longview, more than 1,600 volunteers
worked to make a difference in the community. In
partnership with non-profits and schools across the
metro area, 39 projects were completed in one day! Here
are some great things that were accomplished:
Repaired
& Recycled Kids Bikes
Removed Invasive Ivy & Blackberry
Repaired Walking Trails
Painted & Landscaped Schools in Portland and
Tualatin
Recorded the
Oral History of Seniors
Packaged Medical Supplies to Send Abroad
Painted a Child Development Center
Planted native trees
Covered Library Books
Build Garden beds in a Low-Income Housing Community
