Sort Food for the Letter Carrier Annual Food Drive (age 16+) *Hands On*
Help the Oregon Food Bank and the National Association of Letter Carriers transport food for the NALC mail carrier food drive! This one-day food drive aims to raise over 2 million pounds of food for hunger-relief in Oregon and Clark County, Washington. As the Oregon Food Bank’s biggest food drive of the year, and it’s essential for helping them have food to distribute during the summer months. On this project, volunteers help postal carriers unload their trucks, and prepare donated food for transport to Oregon Food Bank.
Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather, close-toed & close-heeled shoes, and bring the linked youth permission form for volunteers under 18. Parking will be available in back of the post office, though carpooling is encouraged. Please park away from the UPSP trucks and docks.
All volunteers ages 14-17 must bring TWO youth release forms -- see Project Requirements below to download.
The Oregon Food Bank is a community-based non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger and its root causes. Food from a variety of sources moves through our warehouses to a network of 20 regional food banks across Oregon and more than 350 local agencies in Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington Counties as well as Clark County, Washington. www.oregonfoodbank.org
Project Requirements:
- Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older to attend this project.

All volunteers under 18 are required to bring TWO youth waviers, both the Hands On Youth Volunteer Release Form and the Oregon Food Bank Youth Release Form, both signed by a parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring these waivers with you on the day of the project.
