ARCHIVE VIEWS Senior Peer Counselor (age 55+) Referral

Join a dynamic group of volunteers who become VIEWS Senior Peer Counselors. VIEWS is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides free Senior Peer Counseling to older adults in the Portland Metro area. Our volunteers facilitate weekly support groups at senior and community centers and provide individual support to seniors in their homes. We also offer Conversations on Aging "workshops" on topics pertinent to older adults.

For 2016 we are seeking compassionate and caring volunteers 55 or over who are available for a no cost training that covers various topics including supportive counseling skills, health issues common to older adults and community resources. Volunteers can also expect ongoing education and support through monthly meetings.

VIEWS recognizes that it’s so much easier when people have an opportunity to share the challenges of aging with peers.

Come and be part of a program that provides support for seniors by seniors.

Please see our website, viewsoregon.org, for information and the online application, or contact: Peter Walsh, VIEWS Program Manager, peter.walsh@cascadiabhc.org (503-261-6181)
