Opportunity Details

Oregon Humane Society Doggie Dash 2016 (age 16+) Referral

Sniff your way to Waterfront Park to Volunteer on Saturday, May 14th!
You're invited to Portland's biggest party for pets and people as we walk, run, eat, drink and have fun with our furry friends. Everyone is welcome. Our goal: raise $550,000 for pets in need.

Voted Portland’s favorite pet event "by a landslide," Doggie Dash is the best place in the Northwest for folks to have fun with their four-legged friends while helping animals in need. The event is a run/walk for people without their dogs, and includes a blocks-long pet festival with contests, vendors, music, and more!

All proceeds from Doggie Dash go directly to the Oregon Humane Society. Our mission is to foster an environment of respect, responsibility, and compassion for all animals through education, legislation, and leadership. To care for the homeless, to defend the abused, and to fight with unrelenting diligence for recognition of the integrity of all animals.

We have multiple volunteers positions to choose from and it's always a good time. For those volunteering at event, please DO NOT bring your own dogs with you. Information packets will be e-mailed to you a week before the event. Please also note that volunteers will have to pay for their own parking at garages/meters around the event. Unfortunately, OHS cannot reimburse for this, but it is a tax deductible expense!

Wear comfortable shoes and clothes for working outdoors.  Volunteers will receive a volunteer Doggie Dash t-shirt to wear when they arrive.

When you contact us to sign up, please give us your full name, e-mail address, phone number and the position(s) you'd like to help with.
