Back to School Project at Ockley Green (all ages) *Hands On*
Join us as we get Ockley Green School ready for the start of a new and exciting school year!
Through a grass roots stance, our community asked the Portland Public Schools for a change in program and to restore the middle school in the Ockley Green building. This request demanded bold change in an ambitious timeline.
We need your help to welcome our families and foster camaraderie on Friday, August 19!
In this one-day project, we hope to create:

A time of service. Projects will include both indoor and outdoor projects, from sprucing up learning gardens, to painting new lines on the basketball court, to sprucing up classrooms and building picnic tables, there will be something for everyone.

A back to school event where our students and their families have an opportunity to meet some of their Ockley Green teachers and staff, as well as familiarize themselves with the building, their school.
Volunteers will also get snacks, drinks and lunch after the project. All tools and supplies will be provided.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome to attend this project; volunteers age 16 or younger must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.
