Opportunity Details

Clean Bikes for Kids (age 14+) *MLK 2012*

Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

Be one of 2,100 volunteers honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to communities throughout the Greater Portland area.

Help the Community Cycling Center clean and/or recycle donated bikes and bike parts! No mechanical experience is required. With your help, the Cycling Center mechanics will use their magic to turn these reclaimed parts into "new" bikes for kids and commuters of all ages - saving the parts from the landfill, helping to keep kids fit, connecting people and jobs and helping to keep our air a bit cleaner!

Please wear close-toed shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit messy. Also, we will likely be working in our outdoor shop area - please dress for the weather.

The Community Cycling Center's mission is to broaden access to bicycling and its benefits through our hands-on programs, neighborhood bike shop and volunteer projects.

**Win a Kindle Fire by recruiting four or more volunteers to join you over MLK Weekend! Click here for details.
