Recycle Electronics with Free Geek (age 10+) *MLK 2012*
Be one of 2,100 volunteers honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to communities throughout the Greater Portland area.
Curious what your printer looks like on the inside? Do you love taking things apart? Interested in helping with technology recycling? This is the project for you! Volunteers will help tear-down and recycle electronics components at Free Geek - a non-profit that recycles and refurbishes used technology and provides training on re-building electronics.Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty (e.g. for gardening) and wear close-toed shoes.
Volunteers will be invited to take an optional tour of the Free Geek facility from at 11am during their volunteer shift.

Project Requirements:
- Please fill out this MLK Adult & Youth Waiver and bring it with you to the project. All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian.
- Volunteers must be 10 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 14 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
- If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed.
