Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

Love books? Libraries? Events? Join a great group of volunteers to set up the semi-annual Friends of Hillsboro Public Library book sale and transform an empty meeting room into the county's largest used book sale. Proceeds from the sale go toward books, supplies, and equipment for the library
 
You'll help move furniture (bookshelves, tables, etc.) and books from storage, getting everything set up, unboxed, and organized. Snacks provided--just bring yourself in a pair of closed toe shoes!

We are not able to work with court-ordered volunteers whose crime involved theft. Please let us know during the approval process that you would like to have your hours verified.


Project Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older to attend this project.

  • All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

  • If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed. To add or remove team members from a project, click on "My Account" and then "My Teams," above.
