Tryon Creek Watershed Wide Restoration (age 8+) Referral
Come help Tryon Creek in the Tryon Creek Watershed Council's annual Watershed Wide Event!
We will be pulling ivy and other invasives, mulching plants, and planting native trees and shrubs at multiple sites in the watershed. Volunteers will learn about Tryon Creek and some native plant ID, be treated to a continental breakfast, and have the opportunity to directly improve the habitat of Tryon Creek for the fish and wildlife that live here.
11:30am - Meet at Riverdale Highschool for lunch and sign in.
12:00pm - Groups will leave for nearby restoration sites. Carpooling encouraged.
3:30pm - Projects will be completed and carpools will return to Riverdale.
Please wear clothing that can get dirty and that is weather appropriate. Sturdy shoes are required and close-toed is recommended. If you are interested in volunteering but can't work on uneven terrain, please contact us for more information or other options.
