Set Up & Serve at VOA's Celebration for Recovery (age 16+) Referral

Support our effective addiction recovery community and meet our staff and clients at this annaul festive celebration of on-going additiction recovery and continued sobriety!

Help welcome and serve 130 program alumni and their 200 family members and guests at this annual event to support a community of on-going addiction recovery. The volunteer team will be serving food to guest buffet style, running food from the kitchen to replenish serving lines, and cleaning up tables and chairs after the event. 

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes you can stand in for long periods of time.

As a volunteer, you are encourgaed to join the party and enjoy a festive meal of Popeyes chicken, rice, beans and biscuits and a wide variety of greens, fruit and pasta salads. Experience for yourself an effective recovery community and how men are making the transition from prison to fulfilling lives as son, husbands, and fathers.

About VOA’s Men’s Residential Center: The mission of VOA's Men's Residential Center is to provide treatment, education and prevention both to our participants and to the larger community. Our efforts are validated as individuals choose recovery and are able to rebuild relationships with their families and become better fathers, husbands and sons. The MRC embraces a culture of celebration and recovery. Our participants and alumni are honored and celebrate recovery in a multitude of ways. Through coming to our annual block party, picnics, alumni celebration, or playing on our alumni clean and sober softball team, individuals here discover how to celebrate life without the use of substances.

Opportunity Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity.
