Wonder of Learning: Conference Support (age 18+) Referral
Conference Name: InterActivity 2012: The Wonder of Learning
Host: Portland Children’s Museum
Dates: May 10th through May 12th
Volunteer Manager: Claire Tronvig
Need: One volunteer per shift unless otherwise specified.
Overview of Conference:
Join us for InterActivity 2012, the Wonder of Learning, in Portland, Oregon, home to the Portland Children’s Museum. As the Association of Children’s Museum’s (ACM) annual conference, InterActivity is the largest gathering of children’s museum professionals from around the world.
Lead museum host Portland Children’s Museum is a regional resource for early childhood development and encompasses Opal Public Charter School and the Center for Children’s Learning. As co-hosts, the Northwest Association of Youth museums membership, which includes 23 museums committed to serving children and families from Washington and Oregon, invite you to join in the experience!
The theme of InterActivity 2012 was inspired from the “Wonder of Learning: The Hundred Languages of Children” a traveling exhibit produced by the Friends of Reggio Children and its associated organizations. Conference attendees will see the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy threaded throughout the conference.
If you have an interest in early childhood development, a love for children’s museums or especially in the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy, and would like to volunteer, please contact Claire Tronvig at the Portland Children’s Museum, ctronvig@portlandcm.org
