Second Annual Boise-Eliot Music Festival (age 18+) Referral
Port City Development Center (Port City) is seeking volunteers for the Second Annual Boise-Eliot Music Festival on May 12th Individual volunteers and groups are welcome to assist with making this family friendsly, community event a great success!
The Second Annual Boise-Eliot Music Festival on May 11th and 12th is a community event and benefit for Port City programs. The inaugrual event brought aproximatly 400 community members together for bluegrass performances, square dancing and a silent auction. This year the event features jazz, bluegrass, old time and rock performances, music workshops, square dancing, a silent auction and raffle. Lots of fun, local beer, food carts, great music and dancing!
Bluegrass, old time and rock music performances will be hosted at the Port City facility from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. Volunteers will assist with ticket and t-shirt sales and event clean up. Volunteers are also invited to paint faces or lead other fun activities for children and families. Volunteer opportunities start as early as 10:30 am and end at 11:30 pm. Volunteers are asked to work at least two hours. As a volunteer you will get into the May 12th festival free of charge.
Port City offers innovatiave employment, community building and skill development opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities (DD) from the Portland metro area. The orginization's mission is to provide the environment and training that strengthens the self-suficiency of adults with disabilities. Port City's diverse urban farming, arts, woodworking, screen-printing, production, janitorial and job development programs employ adults with DD, engages community members, and develops skills that support individual's independence.
