Rose City Park Annual Cleanup (age 17+) Referral

Join us for a fun way to meet local community activists at the Rose City Park annual neighborhood clean-up!

Volunteers are needed to help unload cars and trucks under the supervision of a “bin” captain. The bin captain checks each vehicle to be sure that items brought to the clean up are acceptable and not such things as hazardous waste or other items not accepted. Volunteers can also help in a more passive manner with our on-going yard sale of useable items brought to the cleanup including household items, building materials, furniture, bikes, toys, and other items.

There are suggested donations according to the material and size of load. Funds raised beyond the cost of holding the cleanup will support several free summer concerts in July at Rose City Park west of the Rose City Park Golf Course.

Wear work clothes and shoes/boots. Safety vests, gloves, water, food and refreshments are provided.

Items taken include wood waste, furniture, appliances (no microwaves), useable household items, carpets, tires, telephones, toasters, glass, plastic, rubber, mattresses, clothes, Styrofoam, and scrap metal.

Items not taken include computers, monitors, TVs, hazardous waste like paint, chemicals, batteries, animal waste, liquids, garbage, hardscape building materials such as concrete, dirt, sod, cement, composite roofing, and asbestos material, cooling units, microwaves, fluorescent bulbs or ballasts, or curbside recyclables. No stumps.
