Books To Prisoners (age 14+) *Hands On*
Books to Prisoners reaches out nationwide to those who are incarcerated with literature and educational materials that help them pass the time and educate themselves. Volunteers are needed to answer request letters from prisoners. Volunteers will read requests and pull appropriate books from the shelves, which will than be packed for mailing.
Please dress warmly, as Books to Prisoners is located in a drafty garage space. In the event of treacherous driving weather - an ice storm, or deep snow - someone will contact you to cancel on the Sunday or Monday before.
*Due to a shortage in funds, we are unable to send out as many book packages as we can create with the help of volunteers (books are heavy!). Feel free to bring any extra stamps you might have to the project to donate to the cause; every cent adds up to enable us to send out more packages more quickly! Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older to attend this project.

If you plan to bring your children or other guests to the event, you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team. You can then sign up your team for this project.

All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project: Youth Volunteer Release Form
