Exercise, Arts & Crafts Volunteers Needed (age 18+) Referral
Come volunteer at the Maples Apartments in Hillsboro! Educational and physical activities are important for the personal development of residents and help build community. A project-based class gives residents a chance to foster relationships with neighbors and build confidence by learning new skills.
Low Impact Exercise Instructor
Low impact exercise is ideal for seniors, those not very active, those that have mobility issues and are on walkers, to help to improve health, lift moods and help seniors remain independent. These exercises are easy, gentle and can be done indoors. If you are certified, have CPR training and have 2-to 4 hours a month, you could make a difference in the lives of some awesome senior citizens.
Entertainment
Got a band or theatrical group that would like to entertain senior citizens? We have requests for this kind of activity. Residents enjoy music, plays and dancing. They say it keeps them active and helps keep their minds alert. If you have a group that is available from 5-6:30pm and would enjoy entertaining some seniors, contact us here at REACH!
Arts & Crafts
Teach hands-on artistic skill to seniors. Crafts may include, but are not limited to: Mosaic, Scrapbooking, Life Drawing, Knitting, Collage, etc. Deliver project-focused workshop including time for instruction, execution, and feedback
Note: Some positions require a criminal background check
