PROPER Thanksgiving Feast-ival (age 16+) Referral
Passionate cooks, helpers, and food donations needed to spread the love at PROPER's 22nd Annual Thanksgivng Feast-ival! In collaboration with Po’Shines Café de la Soul & Celebration Tabernacle Church, PROPER is hosting its 23rd annual Kenton Thanksgiving dinner for the community from 12pm - 4pm on Thursday, November 24th.
Volunteers are needed for these roles:
Supply Pickup
Monday, November 21st,
Tuesday, November 22nd,
Wednesday, November 23rd
Food Prep
Wednesday, November 23rd
Event Set Up
Food Service
Clean Up
Thursday, November 24th
This event could not come together without the help of many pre-event, during, and post-event volunteer positions. Friendly neighborly team-spirit required for all positions!
• Cook or bake – Experience and food handler’s license required, traditional, vegan & vegetarian, ingredients and professional kitchen provided, meals may be prepared in advance where presence is not required on event day
• Food Donations - perishable and non-perishable Thanksgiving-related items, such as turkeys and hams, or paper-goods, coupons, and vouchers for other food items.
• Event set up – Wear comfortable attire, ability to lift 20 lbs without assistance
• Prep food before the event – Hand/wrist dexterity needed, be a team player, let us know if you have allergies
• Serve food at the meal itself - Hand/wrist dexterity necessary (please note, there are limited spots available for actual meal service)
• Cleanup - Wear comfortable attire, ability to lift 20 lbs without assistance
Week Of:
Shifts are typically 2-4 hours depending on the position:
• Monday & Tuesday - 2 Supply pickup shifts from 9am to 5PM
• Wednesday, 2 different shifts within the 4PM to 10 PM timeframe
• Thursday - 3 different shifts within the 8 AM to 7PM timeframe
PROPER's Holiday Feasts are an extension of our summer networking festivals - always free, family-friendly, vegetarian-friendly and all about "Uniting Community Across All Lines."
