Help Build a Learning Garden at Gilbert Park Elementary! (age 5+) Referral

Gilbert Park Elementary is thrilled to be installing a new outdoor classroom and native habitat/learning garden in our school's central courtyard this year, and we could use your help! We'll be having work parties twice per month through the end of the school year, one on a Saturday and one on a no-school weekday.

Rain or shine, no experience necessary, tools and snacks provided.
Please contact to register and/or to discuss additional volunteer opportunities with this project.

Our work party schedule through the end of the year is as follows:

  • Monday, February 18th (President's Day, no school) 12-3pm

  • Friday, March 1st (no school) 12-3pm

  • Saturday, March 16th, 12-3pm

  • Friday, April 5th (no school) 12-3pm

  • Saturday, April 20th (Earth Day, Arbor Day Celebration) 12-3pm

  • Saturday, May 4th (pre-Mothers' Day plant sale) 11am-3pm

  • Friday, May 17th (no school) 11-2

  • Saturday, June 8th (end-of-school celebration, pre-Fathers' day plant sale) 11-2pm

Opportunity Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 5 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity; any volunteer under age 13 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
