Craft Cards for Seniors with HEART (age 4+) *Hands On*
Kids, families, crafy types! Help H.E.A.R.T. craft personalized cards to give to seniors served by Meals On Wheels / The Loaves & Fishes Center!
HEART’s services are specially designed to provide a combined focus on human rights, animal protection and environmental ethics. Our programming to educators and students, as well as our city and state level advocacy efforts, enable us to significantly impact the way young people think about their responsibility to one another, animals and the natural world.
One of the ways we bring humane education to the community is in the form of direct service to people, planet and animals. The Love Letter projects gives us an opportunity to give back to, get to know and create meaningful exchanges with the elderly community.
Markers, construction paper and other fun craft items will be avaliable to create cards. All art materials and supplies are eco-friendly and secondhand. Letter writing and card making will be based on themes such as seasons and holidays.
Got any scrap materials at home? Feel free to bring any craft items you would like to use to make your cards. We always in need of extra supplies like scrapbook paper and glue sticks and appreciate any donations you can provide.
Project Requirements:

Volunteers must be 4 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 13 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed.
