Organize Reading Incentives for Library Youth Program (ages 16+) Referral
Do you have a little time and lots of love for the library? Sort prizes, also called reading incentives, for the library's Summer Reading program!
Every year, Multnomah County Library sponsors Summer Reading, the largest reading incentive program in Oregon. Last year over 110,000 youth participated in Summer Reading. Help the library sort and package thousands of prizes, including books, that will be distributed to neighborhood libraries in preparation for the start of Summer Reading on June 14.
Volunteers will sort, stack, and package Summer Reading prizes on June 1st from 9:30 a.m. - noon. Here are the details:
Skills & abilities:
- Ability to follow direction
- Ability to lift boxes (approx. 30 pounds)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and stoop
The project will take place in inner Northeast Portland and instructions will be sent to volunteers after they register. Volunteers should wear closed toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty.
