Johnson Creek Tree Planting in Sellwood! (age 10+) *Hands On*
Join your community members and fellow tree lovers for a few hours of tree planting and mulching to help enhance the ecology of the Johnson Creek Watershed. This project is hosted by Portland Parks and Recreation Community Gardens and City Nature East Program.
Get some fresh air, learn about the local habitat, and enjoy working together as a group to give 15 new trees a home in this Sellwood public park! We'll have some granola bars and water to help keep you nourished during your shift.
Please wear long pants and long sleeves, sturdy walking shoes, and bring a water bottle.
The City of Portland Community Garden program has provided gardening opportunities for the physical and social benefit of the people and neighborhoods of Portland since 1975. There are 47 community gardens located throughout the city, developed and operated by volunteers and Portland Parks and Recreation staff.
