Honoring Our Elders: Therapeutic Activities with Seniors (age 16+) Referral

Lend a hand with engaging adults with functional and/or cognitive impairments with a variety of therapeutic activities, which may blanket, crayon, doll and chalk-making, tai chi, art or music therapy, or gardening projects.

Lunch, supplies, training, and laughter included!

As a volunteer, you will receive an overview of the challenges faced by the aging population, how this community is able to "age in place" through innovative services such as adult day centers, and how you can help break their isolation.

Please wear conservative/modest attire.

Volunteers of America's Adult Day Centers feature structured programs that meet the needs of functionally and/or cognitively impaired adults including individually planned social and support services, supervision, and health monitoring in a protective setting during the day. The focus is on increased well being of the entire family/community through the creation of a balanced system where caregivers are able to maintain individual-based care.
