Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

Join over 1,900 volunteers for Comcast Cares Day 2014! 

Recycling books!  Support the Environment AND Literacy - Wow!  


Engage with the Ft. Vancouver Regional Library District by volunteering on this day and help out with scanning & sortng books for Booksales (all funds from these sales support Summer Reading Programs for kids).

With thirteen libraries, three express libraries and two bookmobiles, Fort Vancouver Regional Library District provides information resources and services, and community and cultural events for a population of more than 425,000 residents. The service area is more than 4,200 square miles and includes farm, open range and national forest lands, communities along the Columbia River, small towns and expanding urban and industrial areas.

 

Project Requirements:

  • You must be 5 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 16 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone. 

  • All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

  • If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project. Questions? Email teams@handsonportland.org 


    IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed. To add or remove team members from a project: log in to your volunteer account and click "Manage My Team" next to the appropriate upcoming opportunity.
