Opportunity Details

Oregon Food Bank Waterfront Blues Festival (age 16+) *Hands On*

Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

Don't miss your chance to help fight hunger in Oregon and to listen to some great tunes. Bring your enthusiasm and be part of Hands On's team of gate volunteers as we collect and sort donations of food and money, provide information and act as goodwill ambassadors for the festival.

Volunteers must wear closed toed/closed heeled shoes at the event (or will not be allowed to participate) and should dress for all types of weather.

By signing up today you are committing to volunteering on your shift. We will be providing volunteer names to Oregon Food Bank and will not be able to remove you from the roster.

The Waterfront Blues Festival is the largest fundraiser for Oregon Food Bank, a nonprofit hunger-relief organization. The festival is owned and operated by Oregon Food Bank. 100 percent of gate donations and proceeds from ticket and pass sales directly benefit Oregon Food Bank's work to eliminate hunger and its root causes.

NOTE: The festvial is located between the west bank of the Willamette River and Naito Parkway, near the Hawthorne Bridge and S.W. Madison. The Smart Park lots are the best bet for drivers. Parking can be a challenge during the festival. Please consider takingTrimet or biking. There is secure bicycle parking on site.

ALL volunteers MUST enter through the Ramp Gate, located South of the Hawthorne Bridge along the pedestrian walkway that leads up to the Eastbound crossing of the bridge.

Project Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to attend this project.

  • All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

  • If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed.
