Help Improve the Columbia River: Gibbons Creek (age 5+) Referral

Help Improve the Columbia River!

Join us as we work in a restored native habitat on the banks of Gibbons Creek, a salmon rearing tributary of the Columbia River. We will be collecting plant survival data, removing tree protectors and pulling invasive plants.

Please wear sun protection, long pants and closed-toe shoes. All gloves and tools are provided.

About the Estuary Partnership:
Our organization exists to improve the lower Columbia River by protecting and restoring nature and clean water for current and future generations of fish, wildlife and people. Volunteers will install riparian plants to benefit the local habitat and provide long term benefits to restore listed salmon populations of the Columbia River system.

As a volunteer you'll learn about the importance of native trees and shrubs to the local wildlife, especially salmon populations, as well as methods of planting trees and shrubs and information about the wildlife refuge and its inhabitants.

What to bring: water bottle and snack, camera and/or binoculars, if desired. The Estuary Partnership will supply warm beverages, snacks, tools and gloves but you are welcome to bring your own.

What to wear: dress for the weather, clothes may get wet and muddy: long sleeves, pants, rain gear and sturdy shoes or boots are recommended.
