Survey Street Trees with Urban Forestry (age 5+) Referral

In 2014, Urban Forestry will be completing tree inventories and tree plans in nine Portland neighborhoods—Boise, Cully, Eliot, Foster Powell, Kerns, Laurelhurst, South Tabor, Sullivan’s Gulch, and West Portland Park! This is a monumental undertaking and we need many volunteers to help us collect data on an estimated 30,000 street trees.

Urban Forestry is seeking volunteers to help collect tree data for the Street Tree Inventory. This is a great opportunity to strengthen tree ID skills and contribute to mapping and assessing the quality of urban trees in Portland.

No experience is necessary, as novice volunteers will be paired with a team leader to identify trees and explain the inventory protocol. Duties include measuring trees, recording data on trees and the site, and mapping trees. For more information: http://portlandoregon.gov/parks/treeinventory.
