Opportunity Details

Have Fun at Walk, Roll, or Stroll with Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp (age 14+) Referral

Spend a day having fun while EMPOWERING youth and adults with disabilities: volunteer with Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp at their 7th Annual Walk, Roll, or Stroll 5k. The event this year is held at Oaks Bottom Park, with the walk route looping around the park itself. There will be food, entertainment, a raffle and more fun!

Volunteers are needed for a variety of positions:

  1. Walk, Stroll, and Roll route monitors: Monitors will be positioned along the route throughout the park and will assist with road crossings, directions, crowd control (keeping participants on the right route) and information.

  2. General set-up: getting everything ready so children and adults with disabilities, and their families and friends, have a great experience—may include tent set-up, decorating, and other various prep.

  3. Monitor and direct event guests from parking lot into park

  4. Breaking it all down at the end

Most volunteer positions last 2-5 hours. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. No special skills required, but enthusiasm is super useful!

Incentives: Free lunch, t-shirt, and other MHKC swag!

Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp EMPOWERS youth and adults with disabilities. We are a specialized summer camp, in existence since the 1950s. Every summer, over 500 children and adults with developmental, physical and/or neurological disabilities enjoy and benefit from their time at Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp through experiencing the joys of summer camp—horse riding, canoeing, an adventure course, fishing, and building often lifelong friendships and connections.
