Invasive Species Invasion at Columbia Springs (all ages) Referral

Volunteer with Columbia Springs as we preserve our piece of northwest forest! Invasive removal helps to ensure our property is kept in the best condition for the public to enjoy and to support native wildlife. We will conclude the day with a fun activity.

All volunteers are welcome! Children are welcome with parent or guardian supervision and teens under 16 with parent or guardian permission. Snacks and tools provided. Please bring sturdy shoes, appropriate outdoor work clothing, a water bottle, and your enthusiasm for helping the community!

Walk-in’s are welcome, but pre-sign-up is encouraged. To sign up, contact the Volunteer and Events Coordinator Kaley McLachlan atvolunteer@columbiasprings.org or 360-882-0936 ext. 230. For more information, visit the Columbia Springs website. Or click "express interest" below and Kaley will follow up with you.

Our mission: To provide our community a unique setting where educational experiences foster a greater awareness of the natural world, inspiring stewardship. Volunteers participating in this event will be impacting this mission by not only helping to preserve our site (the "unique setting") for others to experience the natural world but they themselves will be stewards and become inspired to spread and ethic of stewardship throughout the community.

Volunteers will learn the basics of local ecology, plant identification, invasive species, and will learn about a rare, Washington state endangered native plant, the Western Wahoo.
