Opportunity Details

Love Your Columbia! (age 4+) Referral

"Love Your Columbia!" is an event on August 23, 2014, that gives YOU the opportunity to pick up litter, pull invasive weeds or perform another restoration activities at Columbia River locations in your community. The event brings together individuals, communities and organizations along the river and throughout the watershed for a day to work towards restoring the resource that we all depend on.

The purpose of this event is to highlight the issues surrounding our river by increasing public awareness, working to restore its health, and encouraging improved stewardship along the entire river. “Rivers in virtually every country face an array of threats, and only through our active involvement can we ensure their health in the years ahead” (World Rivers Day).

This is a fantastic way to connect to all of the communities and people along the river. Come and be part of the celebration!

Multiple locations are available and specific details will be provided by the project lead at each location. Most supplies (gloves, trash bags, etc.) will be provided. Please bring a water bottle and sun screen.

Columbia Riverkeeper's mission is to "protect and restore the water quality of the Columbia River and all life connected to it, from the headwaters to the Pacific Ocean." Join us in this important work!
