Pirates-in-Training Needed! Aquifer Adventure 2014 (age 14+) Referral
Ahoy thar, matey! It’s time to celebrate at Aquifer Adventure!
Join our volunteer crew for a swashbuckling adventure on the high sloughs, as the Portland Water Bureau and Columbia Slough Watershed Council team up to present a FREE, family-friendly event full of educational games and pirate booty. Seadogs and landlubbers alike are needed to volunteer.
This is a big event for the Bureau and the Council – we’ve had over 800 pirates-in-training attend in past years – and we really need your help to make this a huge success. So come volunteer… or walk the plank!
WHAT: Aquifer Adventure 2014
WHEN: Saturday, September 13th, 2014
. Event open to the public 12-4pm
Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:
Shift 1: 8 AM -11:00 AM (Set Up)
Shift 2: 11:30 AM-2:00 PM (Event Shift)
Shift 3: 1:30 - 4:30 PM (Event Shift)
Volunteer Roles:
• Set–up! (8am-11am): put up tents, unload canoes, set-up tables, put out signs, etc.
• Creative and organized scavenger hunt assistants
• Canoe Trip Captains: help with lifejacket fittings, boat loading, or canoe guiding
• Registration Tent: greet visitors and explain event, have attendees sign waiver and give out wristbands
• Parking Greeter (11am-2pm or 2-4pm)
• Games and Activity Leaders
• And more! You don't have to know proper pirate parlance to participate :)
Note: Food and T-Shirts (as supplies last) will be provided for volunteers!
