Love DIY? Help at the OMSI Maker Faire! (age 14+) Referral
Portland Mini Maker Faire returns to OMSI on September 13 and 14, and we need your help to make this awesome event happen! Maker Faire is a community-based, fun, and engaging learning event that inspires everyone to become a maker (make cool things!) and connect to people and projects in their local community.
Volunteers are needed in a number of customer service roles from event registration to bike valet monitoring. Volunteers will be taking tickets, directing visitors, checking in participants, and more!
Volunteers must be 14 or older. Excellent customer service skills required. Most volunteer positions require full mobility.
Maker Faire brings together families and individuals to celebrate the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset and showcase a wide variety of incredible projects. Don’t miss out on the fun! On the day they work, volunteers will receive free admission to the event (and to the museum).
Volunteer Shifts Available:
September 13th and 14th (Saturday and Sunday- two shifts each day)
Shift 1: 9:30AM - 1:30PM
Shift 2: 1:00PM - 5:00PM
Qualifications:

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and customer service skills.

Able to maintain a calm, pleasant, and cheerful demeanor in a variety of atmospheres.

Able to listen and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and ages.

Dependable and punctual.

Self-directed and willing to take initiative.

Willing to follow OMSI rules and procedures.

Currently seeking volunteers at least 14 years of age.
