What's in a Wetland? (age 10+) *Hands On* MDD 2014
Did you know that wetlands are hard at work everyday cleaning and storing our water, preventing soil erosion, controling flooding and providing local habitat for thousands of species of birds, fish and mammals.

About The Wetlands Concervancy
The Wetlands Conservancy (TWC) is the only organization in Oregon dedicated to promoting community and private partnerships to permanently protect and conserve Oregon’s greatest wetlands – our most biologically rich and diverse lands. For more than 30 years, The Wetlands Conservancy has educated and assisted landowners, neighborhood groups, land trusts, and watershed councils on local stewardship.
What We'll be Doing
Volunteers will help Wetlands Conservancy staff with general stewardship activities, which may include: installing or flagging new plants, trash pickup, removing invasive species that are encroaching on recently planted natives, and more.
Note that the ground may be wet and uneven - and small waterways run through the area - so be prepared to keep an eye out for safety.
What to Bring & Wear
Dress for the weather and wear tall rubber boots if you have them. Tools, gloves, tea, snacks and water will be provided. A limited supply of boots, in various sizes, are available for volunteers.

Volunteers must be 10 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 18 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, fill out and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.
