Archived: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk (age 15+) Referral

What is Making Strides Against Breast Cancer?

Our 5k non-competitive walk honors and celebrates breast cancer survivors and loved ones we have lost, raises awareness to reduce the risk of the disease, and raises funds to end breast cancer.

How Can I help?

We need volunteers to help promote our breast cancer awareness walk at its new location. We specifically need help the day of the event. We need help with everything between people spread out throughout the walk route cheering on walkers, maintaining certain stations checking people in, set up, clean up, and more!

Where is the Walk Held?

The walk will be held at The Fields Neighborhood Park in the Pearl (1099 NW Overton St, Portland, OR) on Saturday, October 10th, 2015. The walk begins at 10am. Volunteers will need to arrive earlier depending on the assigned task.

How does American Cancer Society help in the fight against Breast Cancer?

Groundbreaking Cancer Research - We’re investing in cutting-edge breast cancer research to better understand, prevent, find, and treat the disease.

Comprehensive Support - One in every two women newly diagnosed with breast cancer turns to us for help and support.

Access to Mammograms - We’re helping to ensure access to mammograms for women who need them so more lives are saved.
