Improve Natural Areas with THPRD (age 14+, 10+ if attending with an adult)

 

Learn about nature in your own backyard while spending the morning in a beautiful park! THPRD Nature Improvement projects range from pulling English ivy and removing Himalayan blackberry to planting native species in our area parks.

Volunteers will be provided all work tools and some snacks; please bring your own reuseable water bottle to drink from during the project. Bring your family, come with a group, or come by yourself and meet new people!

Stewardship Saturdays with Columbia Slough Watershed Council (age 14+, 2+ if attending with an adult)

The mission of the Columbia Slough Watershed Council is to protect and enhance the Columbia Slough and its watershed through community engagement, education, and restoration.

Join us at our upcoming Stewardship Saturday events in November as we plant native shrubs at two natural areas in our watershed. On November 2nd, we'll plant native shrubs and ferns to provide habitat for the wildlife along the Slough nearby a local business, ACME Storage. On November 9th, we'll plant native shrubs at the Portland Water Bureau Groundwater Pump Station where Portlanders get a portion of their drinking water.

Toast to Life Gala at The Crowne Plaza (age 13+ alone or with an adult)

We strive to find treatment and cures for Muscular Dystrophy diseases. We need help in many places at the Gala: set up, greeting, registration, silent auction, running games, and the live auction. I can email you a packet with specific descriptions of each task or we can put you where you are most needed.
