Restore Cedar Mill Park (age 10+) *MLK 2015*

  Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

Celebrate your legacy of service by removing Himalayan blackberry and English ivy from the beautiful upland forests of Cedar Mill Park!

Please dress for the weather, wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. And, if possible, please bring heavy-duty work gloves and a re-usable water bottle to drink from throughout the day.


The Natural Resource Department exists to ensure that natural communities within Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District are respected, appreciated, maintained , protected, enhanced and restored as an integral part of planning and operations.

Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District is a special service district that provides parks and recreational opportunities and services for citizens of all ages in Beaverton and other ares of eastern Washington County.

Project Requirements:

  • You must be 10 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 14 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.

    All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Volunteer Release Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project.

  • If you plan to bring children/additional volunteers you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project. Questions? Email teams@handsonportland.org 

    IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed. To add or remove team members from a project: log in to your volunteer account and click "Manage My Team" next to the appropriate upcoming opportunity.
