Help Bag Hunger (ages 15+)
Portland Food Project is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that collects non-perishable food 6 times a year. The food we collect goes to 21 local food pantries that support a wide variety of people who are struggling with food insufficiency in our community. Our neighborhood coordinators collect food bags from over 1,900 donors, on 6 specified Saturday mornings and bring the bags to a central location. We collect about 18,000 pounds of food at each collection date and we could really use some help transferring these (5-20 pound) bags from cars to the building. Please join us in our efforts to bring food to those in need in our community.
