Dig In! at the Hillsboro Food Bank Learning Garden

Agency: Oregon Food Bank

Description: Join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Greater Portland volunteer leader. No advance training or ongoing commitment required, so sign up and participate in a project that fits your schedule. Need help signing up? Call 503-200-3355.

Come and volunteer for Oregon Food Bank's Dig In Program at Westside Learning Garden.

Work together with community members to grow fresh wholesome organic produce to be distributed to hunger fighting member agencies in Washington County. Oregon Food Bank's Learning Garden programs provide beautiful, bountiful growing spaces where people can learn to grow some of their own food. Volunteers of all ages and garden experience levels are needed to help maintain the gardens. Tasks often include digging, planting, weeding, thinning, harvesting, composting. No prior experience is necessary; training will be provided. The garden is open rain or shine, so please be sure to dress for the weather.

If you are a court-ordered volunteer, you will need to contact Oregon Food Bank directly to determine whether you are eligible to volunteer. Please contact Amy Evangelista at 503-972-2993 or aevangelista@oregonfoodbank.org.
