Be the change. Volunteer.
*This Project is not managed by Hands On Greater Portland and is not led by a Hands On Project Leader. Instead, it is managed and led by a representative of the agency being served. The agency is a Hands On Greater Portland Partner. While we do work closely to ensure that the project will be meaningful, it does not follow the same format as a Hands On-managed project.
To sign up for this project, click on "Have Agency Contact Me." This will notify the agency that you are interested in participating, and they will then contact you with more information.

If you do not see "Have Agency Contact Me" (below), you will need to login or register.

Referral: Women in Trades Career Fair

Agency: Oregon Tradeswomen

Description: At our annual Women in Trades Career Fair (May 14 - 16), women and girls have the opportunity to discover the excitement of high-paying construction-related careers. They have the opportunity to meet employers and other tradeswomen, participate in workshops and demonstrations, learn about trading opportunities and much more.

Volunteers power the Fair, performing a variety of jobs for us. We're looking for folks to fill all sorts of positions, from youth tent assistants to floaters, to volunteer check-in, registration, and set-up/tear-down. As a volunteer, you will gain: opportunities to network with employers and successful tradeswomen; free lunch and beverages for each day that you volunteer; a free official 2009 Women in Trades Career Fair t-shirt and metal water bottle; and satisfaction knowing you are supporting the next generation of tradeswomen!

Volunteer shifts are typically four hours long (though we welcome volunteers who can commit any length of time). Shifts tend to break down into early morning, mid-morning to mid-afternoon, and afternoon.

Click "Have Agency Contact Me" to get more information and request a shift or two!

Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc. is dedicated to promoting success for women in the trades through education, leadership and mentorship.
