| Get your hands dirty at Zenger Farm |
Agency: Friends of Zenger Farm
Description:
Join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Greater Portland project leader. No advance training or ongoing commitment required, so sign up and participate in a project that fits your schedule. Need help signing up? Call 503-200-3355.
Come out and get your hands dirty at Zenger farm! We are a non profit and working urban farm promoting: sustainable food practices, youth education, environmental stewardship, and community and economic development.
Our Friday Work Parties are a great way to connect with other community members, spend some time outside, and get your hands dirty! We will be completing an assortment of tasks that will contribute to the maintenance of a working urban farm and youth garden. The last hour of the work party, volunteers will have the option of taking a tour of the farm to learn more about its crops, bees, sustainable farmhouse, youth programs, and more!
We will be meeting at the farmhouse a little before 2pm. See you there!
Zenger Farm currently brings over 3000 people a year to the farm, including international visitors, community members and students of all ages. Our programs provide hands-on opportunities in:
· Youth and Adult Education
· Sustainable Urban Agriculture
· Environmental Stewardship
· Green Economic Development
