| Celebrate Salvation Army Week |
Agency: The Salvation Army
Description:
Join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Greater Portland volunteer leader. No advance training or ongoing commitment required, so sign up and participate in a project that fits your schedule. Need help signing up? Call 503-200-3355.
In celebration of the National Salvation Army Week, the Tualatin Valley Citadel will be hosting a Hot Dog lunch for the community on May 11th – 15th from 11am-1pm. Cheerful people are needed who can help with the set-up, serving and clean-up of this project. We are anticipating a great turn-out (and hoping for good weather too). The hot-dogs will be served outside which means that small tents will need to be set-up along with tables and chairs for people to sit and relax in. If you would like to help out, we would love to have you!
The Salvation Army has been helping people in the Portland community turn their lives around for 115 years. And as needs change, so do the programs and services The Army provides. They help the hungry and the homeless, many of the working poor, women and children fleeing domestic violence, seniors looking for friendship and a hot meal, and children who need to play and to make friends.
This project is great for volunteers 18 and older
