Help set up and greet community members at the annual Washington County Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Peace pole dedication. "The Dream of Peace lives on". This is a community event sponsored by the Inter-religious Action Network, Human Rights Council of Washington County, and the Beaverton Human Rights Advisory Commission celebrating the continued impact of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s message on our community. Musical and multi-ethnic interpretive dance performances as well as special community awards for outstanding community service presented to educate and honor our diversity. Volunteer opportunities include: Seating and event set up, program folding, ushers, and event cleanup. Skill specific opportunities: Event photographer – must have own camera and ability to send photographs over email or supply organizers with CD of images taken. Sign language interpreter – Must have strong experience interpreting events with speaking and music for at least 2 hours continuously. ** Please email Volunteer Leader below if you have either of these skills. Volunteers are welcome to stay for the event program. Thanks for your support! This project is open to volunteers 14 and older.
