| Get Organized at the Clark County Habitat ReStore |
Agency: Habitat For Humanity ReStore/Clark County
Description:
Like organizing? Interested in learning more about salvaged building materials? Join us for a shift in our warehouse! Volunteers will help in a number of areas, from donations processing to re-organization of merchandise, cleaning, and maybe even some painting. For volunteers who enjoy customer service, we may have some opportunities for you as well! With a small staff, we rely on the help of volunteers to keep our store looking its best. Wear comfortable work clothes and hard-toed shoes are a must!
The Habitat for Humanity's ReStore is a recycled building materials re-sale center that recycles overstock materials, seconds, and used or discontinued or salvaged building materials. Habitat ReStores raise funds for the Habitat for Humanity Affiliates in the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan areas while keeping usable materials out of the landfill. The funds we raise help build affordable homes for local low income families. The materials we sell are donated new and used building materials that would otherwise have been discarded. We have earned over $500,000 for our affiliates and we keep over 950 tons of materials out of the landfill each year. This project is great
for volunteers ages 16 and older. Volunteers under age 18 will need to
bring waivers signed by a Parent/Guardian, one waiver for Hands On Greater Portland and one waiver for Habitat ReStore. Hands On Youth Volunteer Release Form Restore Youth Volunteer Release Form
