Build Habitat Homes

Agency: Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East

Description:

Join Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service at our Jubilee Commons build site as we frame eight homes! Habitat builds simple, decent, affordable homes for families in the Portland and Gresham area. We are able to do this by utilizing hardworking volunteers like you, no matter if you have experience in construction or not! Habitat then sells the homes to our partner families with a 0% interest mortgage - breaking the cycle of poverty and strengthening families and our community!

If you sign up for a volunteer day, we are counting on you to be at the site by 8:30 a.m. and to stay all day till 3:30 p.m.! Please bring your lunch and snacks. Wear closed-toed shoes and clothing you don't mind getting dirty, painted, or ruined. Dress in layers appropriate for the weather, and bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to stay protected from the sun. We will provide training, tools, and safety equipment.

Thank you for supporting Habitat for Humanity!
