Visitor Information Ambassador for Oregon Convention Center (age 18+) Referral
Do you love Portland? Then the perfect volunteer opportunity awaits you with the Visitor Information Center at the Oregon Convention Center!
Whether you are welcoming visitors, directing attendees to a show or meeting, or donating time to a volunteer committee, you can help us make our twin towers shine! This is an opportunity for you to share your knowledge and passion for Portland's sites, history and culture, while also learning more through ongoing training programs, newsletter updates and educational site tours covering area attractions, hotels, restaurants and events.
During each three-hour volunteer shift, you will interact with local, regional, national and international visitors to Portland, making new friends and learning along the way.
Position Description

Provides a warm welcome and excellent customer service to visitors/guests

Directs guests to programs and appointments

Answers general information

Performs light computer research

Keeps reception area neat and stocked with informational materials

Provides light administrative support
Skills Needed

Experience in a customer service environment

Ability to communicate with people of diverse backgrounds

Dependable and punctual

Must enjoy meeting new people

Comfortable with computer/telephones (or quick study willing to learn)
